Sentes Selected MAC Wrestler of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan freshman 125-pounder Scotti Sentes (Fort Myers, Fla./Riverdale HS) has been named Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week.

Sentes, ranked ninth nationally at 125 pounds, posted a 12-0 major decision over 11th-ranked Mike Watts in the Chippewas' 19-12 win at No. 10 Michigan last weekend. The victory improved Sentes to 6-1 overall during his debut season.

Sentes is the second Chippewa to earn the conference's weekly honor this season. Junior 149-pounder Steve Brown was recognized after being named Most Outstanding Wrestler at the Brockport/Oklahoma Gold Classic.

CMU, ranked 16th in the most recent NWCA/InterMat top 25, returns to action at the Midlands Tournament Dec. 29-30.
