Chan Named MAC West Division Player of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University junior guard Angel Chan (Wyoming, Mich./ Wyoming Park HS) was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week by the league office on Monday. It is Chan’s first player of the week honor and second for CMU this season.
Chan scored a career-high 25 points against Kent State in the Chippewas’ first MAC win of the season. She hit three treys in the first minute of overtime and was responsible for the first 11 points by either team in the extra frame, finishing with 15 in overtime and helping CMU pull away, 87-70 over the Golden Flashes.
The Chippewas return to Rose Arena on Wednesday to face Bowling Green. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., and is part of the WBCA’s “Think Pink” Initiative. Fans wearing pink to the game will receive half off their general admission ticket in an attempt to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Donations will also be accepted at the game.
