Jakubowski Places Fifth in Javelin

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Allison Jakubowski placed fourth in the javelin on Thursday to give Central Michigan its first five points in the team standings. The junior threw 139-4.

Buffalo's Vanessa Roelofsen won the event with a distance of 154-10.

Shanna Tamminga and Erika Schroll both completed four of the seven events in the heptathlon. Tamminga has tallied 2,816 points while Schroll has posted 2,561 in the 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200m dash.

CMU had three participants in the hammer throw and the top placing was Charity Sunderman in 15th (147-11).

Akron is currently in first place with 58 points. Action continues at Bowling Green's Whittaker Track on Friday and Saturday
