- Miller finished the season with wins over four of the top five ranked 174-pounders in the country: No. 2 Michael Cannon (American), No. 3 Brandon Browne (Nebraska), No. 4 Jay Borschel (Iowa) and No. 5 Raymond Jordan (Missouri). He is the only 174-pounder in the country to defeat all four of those individuals.
- Miller’s wins over Cannon, Browne and Borschel all came after losses to those individuals earlier in the season.
- CMU had finalists at the NCAA Championships in back-to-back years for just the second time (Casey Cunningham, 1998 and 1999).
- CMU finished the national tournament with multiple All-Americans for the sixth straight season and ninth time in the last 10 years.
- The Chippewas’ 35 team points are the sixth-most CMU has ever scored at the national tournament.
- CMU finished tied for 14th as a team, the third straight year and fifth time in the last six years CMU has placed in the top 15 in the country.
