| Scouting the Opponent -- Buffalo was tabbed sixth in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference preseason poll, with Kourtney Brown earning preseason All-MAC honors. The Bulls enter the week tied for third in the East, but have dropped four of their last five in conference play, including their last three road contests. UB is 7-5 away from their home floor on the season. All-Time Series -- Buffalo owns a 7-4 edge in the all-time series, including a split of the four games in Mount Pleasant in a series that dates back to 1999. The Bulls won the first five meetings and the Chippewas responded with victories in four of the next five before UB picked up a 60-52 decision last season. The Chippewas own a 2-1 edge in the series under head coach Sue Guevara. Creating a Winning Culture -- The Chippewas have 42 wins and counting in the last three seasons, the most since a three-year span starting in 1991-92 (42). 20-point Prowess -- The Chippewas have had a player score 20-plus points on 82 occasions in head coach Sue Guevara’s four seasons (109 games). CMU had just 14 such scoring outputs in its previous 114 games. A Brand New Record Book -- With the inagural season of McGuirk Arena under way, a brand new record book will be started for games held in the arena. All records from Rose Center will be considered separate records. Finally, A Home Stretch -- CMU opened its schedule with nine straight on the road and opened MAC play with four of six away from McGuirk Arena. Starting with today’s game against Buffalo, CMU will play three of its next five and six of its next nine in the firendly confines. | |||
