Maroon-Gold Intrasquad Set for Thursday Night

MOUNT PLEASANT - The matchups are set for the Central Michigan wrestling program's Maroon-Gold Intrasquad meet at McGuirk Arena Thursday night.
Nine true or redshirt freshmen will be among the 20 Chippewas who will take the mat beginning at 7:30 p.m. Also in the projected lineup is a pair of returning national qualifiers who are moving up a weight class from last season: Donnie Corby (157 pounds) and two-time All-American Ben Bennett (184 pounds).
"We're looking forward to seeing them compete outside of the wrestling room in a match-like environment," said CMU head coach Tom Borrelli. "I think it will be good for them to be in that environment for the first time."
The Chippewas officially open the 2011-12 season at the Michigan State Open on Saturday, Nov. 12. The dual meet season begins Nov. 20 when CMU faces Stanford and Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tenn.
