STORYLINES
...Shonda Long became just the 19th player in Mid-American Conference history to connect on 200-plus career three-pointers with six against the Bulls on Jan. 26. She currently sits at No. 19 on the list with 204 made threes. [Program Record Book ]
...Saturday's game time against Ohio was finally announced last week. The Chippewas and Bobcats will tip off at 12:30 at the Convocation Center.

...senior Kaihla Szunko needs just 113 rebounds to become just the third player to reach 1,000 career rebounds in CMU history.
...Kaihla Szunko has 13 double-doubles in 20 games so far this season. She ranks seventh in the nation in 2010-11, and second among active players in the MAC with 36 in her career.
...CMU boasts the top two scoring freshmen in the Mid-American Conference in Niki DiGuilio (10.8) and Taylor Johnson (10.2 ppg). Johnson is also the top rebounding freshman in the MAC (7.1/game).

| Scouting the Opponents -- Miami was tabbed third in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference preseason poll. The RedHawks sit in a three-way tie for fourth in the East Division entering today’s game, but have dropped their past four decisions, including a 72-62 setback vs. Eastern Michigan last time out. Starting Off MAC Play Right -- The Chippewas won their MAC opener for the first time since 2006-07 with a 72-62 victory at Western Michigan, who also was defeated last time the Maroon and Gold won their conference opener (91-78 on Jan. 3, 2007). The Chippewas started 2-0 in league play for the first time since 1990-91. Creating a Winning Culture -- The Chippewas have 43 wins and counting in the last three seasons, the most since a three-year span starting in 1991-92 (42). | |||
