...senior Kaihla Szunko has 16 double-doubles in 23 games so far this season. She ranks third in the nation in 2010-11, and second among active players in the MAC with 38 in her career.

TALE OF THE TAPE			GAME NOTES
			Scouting the Opponents -- Northern Illinois was tabbed fifth in the West Division in the MAC preseason poll and are coming off an overtime win at Buffalo their last time out. All-Time Series -- The Huskies own a 20-19 edge all-time in the series. The teams have split six decisions under head coach Sue Guevara, but the Chippewas have won three straight meetings. CMU swept NIU a season ago, its first clean slate against the Huskies since 1986 excluding 2005 when the two teams played only once and the Chippewas claimed a 64-58 victory. High School Reunion -- CMU senior guard Camille Ramsey and NIU senior Mauvolyene Adams both played for Bolingbrook High School as preps. The two combined to help lead Bolingbrook to the 2006 Class AA state title and finished as the No. 2 ranked team in the state, No. 8 in the nation (according to USA Today). Against the East -- CMU finished crossover play at  4-2 against the East Division in 2011, with wins over Akron, Miami, Ohio and Kent State. The Chippewas are 13-11 all-time against the East Division under head coach Sue Guevara in regular season play, 15-14 including postseason play. In head coach Sue Guevara’s tenure, CMU has played all five of its MAC Tournament games against the East. Comeback Kids -- CMU erased a 16-point hole against Toledo to claim a comeback victory on Jan. 19. It was the largest comeback victory for the Chippewas since a 16-point comeback win against Bowling Green last season. Against Kent State, Central Michigan trailed by 10 with 6:25 remaining and closed the game on a 24-8 run to pick up a 78-72 victory at McGuirk Arena on Feb. 12. Big Improvement -- CMU has already won 10 games away from home this season, eight more than its total from all of last season and the most since 1990-91 (12). Central Michigan won its first two MAC road contests for the first time since 1987-88. The Chippewas had won only 14 road games the previous three seasons combined.
