CMU vs. OU Post Game Notes

CMU will see No. 4 Miami tomorrow at noon in the Mid-American Conference Tournament semifinals. The Chippewas and RedHawks have faced one another three times in post-season play, with the Chippewas holding a 2-1 edge. The last tournament meeting was in 1989 ending 74-58 in favor of the Maroon and Gold. These two teams only met once this season in Mount Pleasant with the ReadHawks downing the Chippewas, 79-57. Miami holds a 31-22 edge in the all-time series.
For the fourth-straight season CMU is heading to the MAC Tournament quarterfinals. The Chippewas are 3-5 overall at Quicken Loans Arena and 17-26 all-time in the MAC Tournament.
Head coach Sue Guevara is now only three wins away from 200.
The Chippewas are 4-2 this season when playing at neutral sites and are 6-2 when playing in a tournament.
Brandie Baker finished the game with three assists, giving her 323 for her career. She is two assists away from tying Sue Nissen, in fifth place, on the CMU career assists chart. Baker is also only 28 points away from becoming the 20th player in CMU history to record 1,000 points.
CMU has won five-straight games, tying its longest winning streak of the season (won five games from Purdue to Wright State).
The Chippewas had only 16 turnovers against the Bobcats, making it the 12th-straight game CMU has managed fewer than 20. This is the longest streak for the Chippewas while under Guevara.
For the third-straight game the Chippewas crashed the boards and held the advantage (43-39 against OU). When the Maroon and Gold out-rebound their opponent this year they are 13-2.
CMU finished the game against OU shooting 40.7 percent from the floor, making its overall record when doing so 8-5 this season and 51-21 all-time while under Guevara.
In 18 games this year CMU has held its opponent to under 40 percent from the floor (OU shot 33.9 percent), making its overall record under Guevara when doing so 59-24.
The Chippewas only attempted 10 free throws (6-10), the second-lowest amount this season.
For the third-straight game the Chippewa bench out-scored the opponent's bench, 28-23. On the season the Maroon and Gold bench is now averaging 24.8 points per game, well above the opposing team's 17.2.
In 15 different games this season a CMU player has recorded a double-double with Crystal Bradford grabbing her eighth against the Bobcats with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
