The last time CMU defeated a No. 1 seed was in the MAC Tournament Championship game in 1983, when it defeated Miami, 78-73.
2003 was the last year that there was an all-MAC West tournament championship game (Western Michigan vs. Ball State).
Guevara is now 7-4 in conference tournament play, while the Chippewas are 19-26. CMU is also now 5-5 when playing at The Q.
Head coach Sue Guevara is now one win away from career win number 200.
Crystal Bradford recorded her third-straight double-double and her 10th this season with 20 points and 12 rebounds. She also was two assists shy of recording her first triple-double. Bradford had 18 second-half points.
Jas'Mine Bracey collected her fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds, the second time this year that multiple Chippewas have had double-doubles.
The Chippewas only committed one turnover in the second half and finished the game with 12. This is the 14th-straight game CMU has managed fewer than 20 turnovers. It is also the longest streak for a CMU team while under Guevara.
For the third time in the MAC Tournament, and the fourth time in five games, the Maroon and Gold out-rebounded their opponent (43 to 39 against BG). CMU is 14-2 this season when dominating on the boards. They were also able to score 46 of the 69 points in the paint, while holding the Falcons to only 28 points in the paint.
The Chippewas have extended their winning streak to seven, which ties the longest win streak since 1987-88.
CMU scored 69 points against Bowling Green, which ties the most scored against the Falcons in regulation this year. The most points scored against the Falcons this year came at the hands of the Chippewas, 72, in an overtime game in Mount Pleasant.
For the fourth-straight game CMU held its opponent to under 40 percent from the field (BG shot 36.5 percent), making it the 20th time this season doing so and its record all-time 61-24 while under Guevara.
For the first time in the past five games CMU attempted more than 10 three-pointers.
This is the 12th time this season that four or more players have scored in double digits. The Chippewas are now 9-3 when this happens.
CMU finished the game going 4-for-5 from the free throw line. It is the fewest amount made and attempted this season for the Maroon and Gold.
Today's win marks the fifth time that the Chippewas have won 20 games. The only other time CMU has won 20 games in back-to-back years was 1982-83 and 1983-84.
