Chippewas Receive No. 1 Seed for Upcoming Virginia Duals

MOUNT PLEASANT - The brackets for this weekend's Virginia Duals were released Tuesday with Central Michigan receiving the No. 1 seed among the 16 participating schools.

The Chippewas, ranked No. 9 in the country in the USA Today/NWCA/AWN Division I Coaches poll, will take on Rider in the opening round of the tournament at 9 a.m., Friday morning.

The tournament features 16 schools with the top eight programs seeded. CMU will face either No. 8 Arizona State or North Dakota State in the second round of the tournament depending on results.

CMU was followed in the seeding by No. 2 Virginia Tech, No. 3 Edinboro, No. 4 Virginia, No. 5 Boise State, No. 6 Old Dominion, No. 7 Kent State and No. 8 Arizona State.

Unseeded Army, Binghamton, Bucknell, Buffalo, The Citadel and Virginia Military Institute round out the competing teams in the tournament.
