CENTRAL MICHIGAN (21-7, 13-3 MAC) at WESTERN MICHIGAN (16-11, 7-9)
• The Central Michigan women's basketball team begins the final week of the regular season with a game at rival Western Michigan.
• The Chippewas share first place in the MAC West with Ball State. Both are 13-3 in league play. The next-best record (12-4) is held by Northern Illinois, which is third in the West.
• MAC East-leading Kent State holds the fourth-best record in the league at 11-5.
• If the Chippewas win and Ball State, which plays at Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, loses, CMU clinches a share of the West crown. The opposite holds true: If CMU loses and Ball State wins, the Cardinals clinch a title share.
• The Chippewas and Ball State have both clinched first-round byes in the MAC Tournament and will open play at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland on Wednesday, March 8.
• CMU was picked to win the MAC West, the overall MAC regular-season title, and the MAC Tournament in the preseason poll.
• CMU plays host to Eastern Michigan, 6-22, 1-15, on Saturday (1 p.m.) in the regular-season finale. Ball State plays host to Toledo on Saturday in its regular-season finale.
• The Chippewas are 14-1 at McGuirk Arena this season, tying the 1983-84 squad for the most home victories in program history. CMU's lone home loss this season came to Elon in the third game of the season.
• Elon is 23-6 and ranked second in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll. The Chippewas are 17th. Ohio is ranked 21st. CMU and Ohio are the lone MAC teams ranked in the poll. Ball State, Northern Illinois, Buffalo, Toledo and Kent State are among others receiving votes.
• CMU defeated Western Michigan, 94-83, on Feb. 11 in Mount Pleasant.
• The Chippewas have won the last four meetings, and five of the last six, against Western. CMU coach Sue Guevara is 16-5 in her career at CMU against the Broncos.
• The Chippewas saw their season-high seven-game win streak come to an end on Saturday with an 81-73 loss at Ball State.
• CMU's Tinara Moore, a 6-foot-3 junior, became the third Chippewa this season to earn MAC West Player of the Week honors on Tuesday.
• Moore averaged 24.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 6.0 blocks per game as CMU went 1-1 last week. She made 18 of her 26 field goal attempts (69.2 percent).
