MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Michael Alford announced today the promotion of Rachel Blunt to Senior Associate Athletics Director of Institutional Support Services.Â

Blunt joined CMU in October, 2016 and oversees compliance and student-athlete services. She is a member of the department's executive leadership team, serves as the sport administrator for soccer and lacrosse, and leads all aspects of the department's leadership academy.
Â
"Rachel has been a valuable member of our team since her arrival at CMU," Alford said. "Not only does she oversee compliance and student-athlete services, but she has taken on additional roles with a high level of responsibility and plays an integral part in the continued success of our department. This is a well-deserved promotion."
Â
In conjunction with Alford, Blunt leads all aspects of the athletic department's Leadership Academy: Fire Up Program, Emerging Leaders, and Director's Table. She also serves as the department's primary contact for the CMU Athletics Department's Diversity Graduate Assistantship Program.Â
She also serves on a pair of key Mid-American Conference committees, the Sexual Violence/Misconduct Task Force and Academic Misconduct Task Force.Â
Â
Before her arrival in Mount Pleasant, Blunt, a Missouri native, served as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance at Southeast Missouri State, where she began her career in compliance as a graduate assistant. She also served in an administrative capacity at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
