Chippewa Women Entertain NIU on Wednesday

GAME PREVIEW
• Central Michigan (21-4, 13-1 MAC) will host Northern Illinois (13-12, 5-9 MAC) on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. in McGuirk Arena.
• Central Michigan posted a 95-82 victory over Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 17. Senior Tinara Moore led the Chippewas with 26 points.
• CMU leads the all-time series against the Huskies, 32-22. The Chippewas have won the 13 of the last 14 meetings.
• CMU posted an 81-78 win at NIU on Jan. 17.
• CMU is 304-301 all-time in MAC games. The Chippewas recorded the program's 300th MAC win against Buffalo on Jan. 31, 2018.
• Over the last three seasons, Central Michigan is 23-1 in home league games and 18-0 since Jan. 20, 2016 when it fell to Toledo in overtime.
• The Chippewas have used the same five starters -- Cassie Breen, Reyna Frost, Presley Hudson, Micaela Kelly and Tinara Moore -- in every game this season.
• CMU is the only team in the MAC to have started the same five all season.

• Central Michigan is one of three MAC teams that have a double-digit scoring margin at plus-13.5 points. This ranks second in the MAC and 33rd in the country.
• Junior Presley Hudson is leading the MAC and ranks seventh in the nation with 3.7 triples per game.
• Hudson is seventh in the country and leads the league in free throw percentage. She is 73-of-80 (91.3 percent).
• Junior Reyna Frost is dominating on the boards as she ranks seventh nationally in rebounds per game (12.4) and fifth in offensive rebounds per game (4.9).
• Frost has recorded 13 double-doubles, which leads the MAC and ranks 25th in the nation. She has 28 career double-doubles.
• Senior Tinara Moore is averaging a team-best 18.9 points per game, which ranks fourth in the MAC and 49th in the nation.
• Moore recorded two blocks against Northern Illinois on Jan. 18 to become CMU's program leader. She has 200 in her career. She passed Crystal Bradford (2011-15), who recorded 171.
• Senior Cassie Breen is 41st in the NCAA and fifth in the conference with 2.8 triples per game.
• Breen needs six 3-pointers to become CMU's career leader. NIki DiGuilio (2010-14) holds the record at 288. Breen has 283.
• Coach Sue Guevara recorded her 100th win at McGuirk Arena with an 88-84 victory over Kent State on Jan. 13.
LAST TIME OUT
• Big numbers from a good-and-getting-better frontcourt, a bounceback win, and the first of a number of hoped-for benchmarks.
• Senior forward Tinara Moore scored 26 points, grabbed eight rebounds and made eight blocks on Feb. 17 as Central Michigan downed Eastern Michigan, 95-82, a Mid-American Conference game at McGuirk Arena.
• Junior forward Reyna Frost added 14 points and hauled down a season-high 20 rebounds, giving her 13th double-double of the season.
• The Chippewas rebounded from their first MAC loss, an 85-82 setback at Buffalo on Wednesday, to improve to 13-1 in league play. They clinched a first-round bye in the league tournament, meaning they will head to Cleveland for the tourney quarterfinals on March 7.
• CMU improved to 21-4 overall.
• All five CMU starters scored in double figures. Presley Hudson had 18 points; Cassie Breen drained four of eight 3-point attempts en route to 16 points; and Micaela Kelly had 13 points while dishing out a team-high six assists.
• Central Michigan never trailed, led by 14 points at halftime, and was up as many as 17 in the third quarter. Eastern Michigan put up a fight and brought it within three points, 78-75, with 7:34 remaining.
• Kelly drained a 3-pointer 9 seconds later, sparking a 15-1 run that left CMU up 93-76 with under 3 minutes to play. The Eagles never brought it closer than 13 points.
• The Chippewas outrebounded the Eagles, 44-32, and CMU shot 52.9 percent from the floor (36 of 68). CMU made 12 of its 23 3-point attempts for 52.2 percent. It was CMU's second-best performance of the season, by percentage.
• The Chippewas also made 91.7 percent of their free throw attempts (11 for 12).
• Courtnie Lewis scored 28 points and Danielle Minott had 21 for the Eagles.
• The game was the annual Play4Kay game, and the Chippewas wore white uniforms trimmed in pink. Fans raised 3, 553 dollars for cancer research.
SCOUTING NORTHERN ILLINOIS
• Central Michigan will host Northern Illinois on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. (ET) in McGuirk Arena.
• The Huskies are led by third-year head coach Lisa Carlsen and hold a 13-12 overall record with a 5-9 mark.
• NIU fell to Ball State, 72-50, on Saturday, Feb. 17 to snap a three-game win streak.
• Four players average in double figures, led by Courtney Woods with 21.4 points per game then followed by Kelly Smith (15.6), Mikayla Voigt (13.6) and Janae Poisson (10.8), respectively.
• Woods also leads the team in rebounds per game (8.2), 3-pointers (74) and steals (33).
• Voigt has dished out a team-high 115 assists, while Smith has swatted away 17 shots.
• Central Michigan leads the all-time series at 32-22, and have won the last six matchups.

Central Michigan will travel to in-state rival Western Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 24 for a 2 p.m. matchup in Kalamazoo.
