MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan lacrosse coach Sara Tisdale has promoted Katrina Reeves to an assistant-coaching position.
Â
Reeves served as a graduate assistant during the 2018 season, when the Chippewas won the Southern Conference championship in their first season in the league. Allison Lane, a former standout player at Marquette, has joined the Chippewas as a graduate assistant.
Â
As Tisdale's assistant coach, Reeves serves as the goalies coach and team's defensive coordinator.
Â
"Elevating Katrina into the assistant role was absolutely the best thing for our program," said Tisdale, who led the Chippewas to an 11-7 finish, a program record for victories, in 2018. "Katrina was instrumental in our success last year and I know the growth will continue this season."Â
Â
A California native, Reeves was an All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation goalkeeper at San Diego State. She was the program's career leader in saves and ground balls when she left after the 2017 season.
Reeves earned her bachelor's degree in child and family development and earned the Scholar-Athlete Award four times as a student-athlete at SDSU. She was also named to the Dean's List four times.
Reeves' playing resumé includes membership on the Spanish National Women's Lacrosse Team. In 2015, she was named to the All-European Team after the ELF Women's Lacrosse European Championship. In 2017, she competed for Spain in the World Cup in Surrey, England.
Â
Lane was a First Team All-BIG EAST selection in 2018 and was a two-year captain at Marquette. She will assist Tisdale with the Chippewas' offense and coach the draw-takers.
Â
"Allison was a force on the draw circle and offensive end, and a strong leader," Tisdale said. "I am confident our student-athletes will flourish under her leadership."
