Chippewas eye improvement as SoCon schedule looms
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan lacrosse team is scheduled to play a nonconference game at Duquesne today (3 p.m.) in Pittsburgh at the Dukes' Rooney Field.
The Chippewas are 2-4 after dropping an 11-10 decision at home on Monday to American. Duquesne is 4-1 and coming off a 23-13 nonconference home loss to Louisville on Monday.
LEADERS
Jocelyne Lemay leads the Chippewas with 15 goals, while Jessica Schuchardt is CMU's leaders in points (18).
Natalie Karlen (11) and Shannon Doyle (10) are also in double figures in points.
Dominique Hamman has played the majority of the minutes in goal for the Chippewas and has a 13.98 goals against average. Hamman has logged 274-plus minutes in goal; Hope Murray has played nearly 85 minutes and carries a 7.77 GAA.

Michaela Connolly leads Duquesne with 25 points. Rilee Bradshaw tops the team with 14 goals.

The Chippewas return home to face Marquette in a nonconference game on Friday, March 15 (2 p.m.). CMU has two nonleaguers remaining – it plays at Kennesaw State in Kennesaw, Ga., on March 29 – before opening Southern Conference play at Mercer in Macon, Ga., on Sunday, March 31.
CMU is the defending SoCon regular-season champion.
