Kelly Named To Her Hoop Stats Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Central Michigan junior guard Micaela Kelly has been named to the Her Hoop Stats Mid-Major Player of the Year Mid-Season Watch List.
The award recognizes the nation's best mid-major player in women's college basketball, the first such award in women's collegiate basketball.
The Detroit native currently leads the Mid-American Conference and ranks second in the nation in scoring averaging 24.3 points per game. She also ranks second in the conference and 18th nationally in three-point percentage (46.5%).
Kelly has scored in double figures in all 12 games this season with three 30-plus point performances and has scored at least 20 points and led the team in scoring in nine games.
Her Hoop Stats will announce the 10 semifinalists for the award on Monday, Feb. 3. From those 10 semifinalists, five finalists will be selected on Monday, March 9. Each of the five finalists will be considered for the award, with the winner being announced on Wednesday, April 1.
To be eligible for the award and watch lists, players must compete in one of the 25 conferences deemed to be "mid-major." Players are selected based on their on-court production in the 2019-20 NCAA season.
