Cross Country Takes Center Stage As It Heads To Great Lakes Regional

Five CMU teams in action this weekend
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan cross country team hits the course on Friday when it partakes in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Evansville, Ind.
CMU is among 33 women's teams and 30 men's teams scheduled to compete for spots in the NCAA Championships. The women's 6K race is scheduled to begin at noon (ET) with the men's 10K is set to follow at 1 p.m.
The women's field includes four nationally ranked teams, No. 12 Michigan, No. 13 Wisconsin, No. 16 Michigan State and No. 25 Notre Dame. Among the ranked teams in the men's field are No. 6 Notre Dame, No. 9 Wisconsin and No. 12 Michigan.
Volleyball
The CMU volleyball team plays its final home weekend of the season when it welcomes Toledo to McGuirk Arena for two Mid-American Conference matches, the first at 6 p.m. on Friday and the second at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The Chippewas are 11-16 overall, 5-10 MAC; the Rockets are 18-9, 9-6.
The program will introduce nine graduating seniors during a ceremony at the conclusion of Saturday's game.
CMU closes the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 17 (6 p.m.), with a home MAC match with Eastern Michigan.
Wrestling
The CMU wrestling team is set to partake on Sunday in the Journeyman Classic in Manheim, Pa. the event features a unique pool format.
The Chippewas opened the season last weekend at the Michigan State Open. Twelve CMU wrestlers placed in the top six at MSU.
After Sunday's tournament, CMU will be idle until Dec. 3, when it entertains Rider in its Mid-American Conference-opening dual at McGuirk Arena.
Women's Basketball
The CMU women's basketball returns to the court on Sunday when it travels to Valparaiso for a nonconference game.
CMU is 0-1 after a 74-40 loss to 17th-ranked Georgia Tech on Tuesday. The Crusaders fell in their season opener, 85-60, on Wednesday to Miami (Ohio).
The Chippewas return to McGuirk Arena on Saturday, Nov. 20, for a nonconference game with 11th-ranked Michigan.

CMU opened the season on Tuesday with a 78-68 loss at Missouri in Tony Barbee's first game in charge of the program.
CMU tips off at DePaul at 6 p.m. (ET) on Saturday and at Eastern Illinois on Monday at 8 p.m.
DePaul defeated Coppin State, 97-72, in its season opener. Eastern Illinois fell in its season opener at Northwestern, 80-56.
