MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan track & field team returns to competition this weekend when it partakes in the Indiana State Gibson Invitational at the Sycamores' Gibson Track & Field Complex.

The three-day meet began on Thursday, but no Chippewas are scheduled to compete until Friday evening with the 200-meter dash and the 5,000-meter run. Most of the CMU student-athletes are scheduled to compete on Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The Chippewas competed last weekend at the Oakland Golden Grizzly Invitational in Rochester. CMU got victories from Brook Boes (discus), Sarah Griffin (pole vault), and Lauren Beckmann (1,500-meter run) at Oakland.

In addition, two Chippewas, Emily Paupore and Lauren Beckmann, are scheduled to run on Friday night in the 10,000-meter run at the Virginia Challenge at the Cavaliers' Lannigan Field.
