Softball Entertains Buffalo In 4-Game MAC Series

Chippewas look to extend three-game win streak

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan softball team is set to entertain Buffalo in a four-game Mid-American Conference series this weekend at Margo Jonker Stadium.

The series is scheduled to begin with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Friday. The teams are scheduled to play at 1 p.m. on Saturday and are slated to close the series on Sunday at noon.

The Chippewas took three of four from Northern Illinois last weekend at Margo Jonker. CMU won the final three games of the series to improve to 7-19, 5-11 MAC.

CMU scored a season-high 15 runs in winning the series finale, 15-7, in five innings. Senior Shaidan Knapp led CMU in the series, going 8-for-12 to raise her batting average to a team-best .356.

Freshman Grace Lehto was the winning pitcher in all three of the Chippewas' victories against NIU. She improved to 6-8.

Buffalo is 10-25, 8-12 MAC. The Bulls split a league doubleheader at Kent State on Tuesday and last weekend was swept by league-leading Miami (Ohio).
