Chippewas Head To MAC Championships

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan golf team will partake in the Mid-American Conference Championship this weekend at Silver Lake Country Club in Silver Lake, Ohio.
The Chippewas will join the 10-team field that is headlined by 13th-ranked Kent State, which has won every MAC title since the league instituted a championship for the sport in 1999.
Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan round out the field, which will play 54 holes of stroke play over two days. The tournament gets underway on Friday (8:30 a.m.); the second round will follow immediately. The third and final round is scheduled for Saturday (8:30 a.m.).
Silver Lake will play to par 72 over 6,277 yards.
The Chippewas will play with a limited lineup comprised of senior Meghan Deardorff, junior Julia Bice, and freshmen Rachel Kauflin and Ashley Goh.
