Softball Set For Trip To Akron

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan softball team is set to open a four-game Mid-American Conference on Friday at Akron.
The teams are set to play a doubleheader on both Friday (1 p.m.) and Saturday (1 p.m.).
The Chippewas on Tuesday split a conference doubleheader with Toledo, winning the nightcap 3-1 behind a three-hitter from freshman Grace Lehto. The win ended a five-game losing streak.
CMU is 12-26, 10-18 MAC. Akron is 8-36, 7-23 and was swept on Wednesday by Kent State, 3-1, 1-0.
Caitlyn Britton continues to swing a hot bat for the Chippewas. The sophomore designated player from Lake Villa, Ill. homered in Tuesday's opener, giving her five round-trippers in a 10-game span.
