Chippewa Track & Field Program Lands Academic Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Seven members of the Central Michigan track & field team have been named All-Academic for the 2021 outdoor season by the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association.
In addition, the Chippewas earned the All-Academic Team Award with a 3.53 cumulative grade point average throughout the 2020-21 academic year.
To earn All-Academic individual honors, a student-athlete must have a cumulative 3.25 GPA and have been ranked in the top 96 in at least one event at the end of the 2021 outdoor season.
The Chippewas so honored were (year, hometown, and major): Maya Bennett, junior, Lansing, biomedical sciences; Marissa Dunn, senior, Novi, recreation and event management; Erin Howard, junior, Lansing, master's of business administration; Hayley Manners, redshirt freshman, Etobicoke, Ont., Can., exercise science; Kasey Staley, junior, Farwell, communications; Mohogany Wells, redshirt freshman, Lansing, Mich., graphic design; Quiara Wheeler, junior, Flint, sociology.
It marks the second-consecutive year that Staley has earned All-Academic honors from the USTFCCCA.
