Field Hockey Falls At Home To Miami

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan field hockey team fell on Friday to Mid-American Conference leader Miami (Ohio), 6-0, at Cristy Freese Field.
CMU is 2-15, 0-6 MAC. Miami is 9-6, 5-1.
Freshman goalkeeper Maja Halasz tallied a career-high 20 saves in goal for CMU. She faced 20 shots on goal.
Miami's Claudia Negrete Garcia scored both first quarter goals for a 2-0 lead. The RedHawks scored a goal apiece in the second and third, and two in the fourth.
Amelia Lane led the Chippewas with two of the team's three shots on goal, the other credited to Kate Biglin.
The RedHawks had 22 penalty corners to the Chippewas' three.
CMU is scheduled to close out its season with MAC opponent Longwood on Saturday, Oct. 29 (11 a.m.) at Cristy Freese Field. The Lancers, who are 3-11, 1-4, were scheduled to host to Kent State on Friday.
