Hernandez Earns Weekly MAC Award

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Mallory Hernandez was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week for volleyball after leading the Chippewas to a pair of straight-set wins over Miami (Ohio) last weekend.
Hernandez, a senior from Fishers, Ind., tallied 41 kills on 65 attempts for a .538 hitting percentage as the Chippewas improved to 14-8, 7-4 MAC. Hernandez also totaled seven block assists and 44.5 points on the weekend.
CMU is scheduled to go to Akron on Friday, Oct. 28 and then to Buffalo on Saturday, Oct. 29 for MAC matches.
