Lacrosse Falls At Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Central Michigan lacrosse team dropped an 18-7 nonconference decision to Louisville on Sunday at the Cardinal Lacrosse Stadium.

Maggie Diebold and Makenna Huhn scored two goals apiece to lead the Chippewas (0-2). Audrey Whiteside, Brennan Paddy and Amanda Hilderbrandt scored one goal apiece.

Erin Owens and Alexa Martel split the game in goal for the Chippewas. Owens made six saves and allowed eight goals, while Martel finished with one save and surrendered 10 goals.

The Cardinals, who led 13-4 at halftime, outshot the Chippewas, 35-21 including a 25-14 edge in shots on goal.

CMU is scheduled to entertain Youngstown State on Wednesday, Feb. 23 (1 p.m.) in its home opener at the CMU Lacrosse/Soccer Complex. The Chippewas then welcome Butler on Sunday, Feb. 27 (noon). Both are nonleague games.
