Munson Named MAC Wrestler Of The Week

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Corbyn Munson was named the Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week after winning both of his matches in dual meets with Big Ten opponents.
Munson, a redshirt junior from Chelsea who wrestles at 149 pounds, opened the weekend with a 9-5 win over Peyton Omania of Michigan State and then closed the weekend with a pin of 25th-ranked Kanen Storr of Michigan. Munson's pin came at the 4:15 mark and it put the 19th-ranked Chippewas in front in the dual, 12-8, against the third-ranked Wolverines.
It was Munson's second pin of the season and it upped his season record to 22-6. His 22 victories lead the Chippewas, who a week ago claimed the MAC West title.
Munson is ranked fourth in the MAC and 33rd nationally.
