Women's Golf 12th After Day 1 In Utah

SAINT GEORGE, Utah – The Central Michigan women's golf team shot a 323 team score on Thursday and stands in 12th place after round 1 of the 16-team Pizza Hut-Lady Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Club.
The second round is scheduled for 11 a.m. (ET) on Friday and the final round of the 54-hole event is set for Saturday 11 a.m. (ET).
Freshman Casilda Allendesalazar shot a 5-over par 77 to lead the Chippewas on Thursday. She is tied for 19th in the 105-player field.
Also for CMU, Rachel Kauflin shot 81, Padgett Chitty carded an 82, Claudia Salvador finished with an 83, and Zoe Vartyan shot 85.
CMU's Ashley Goh, playing as an individual, is among a group tied for 27th after a 6-over 78.
Two other Chippewas, Mackenzie Baustad and Ashley Liles, are also playing in the tournament as individuals. Baustad shot 86 on Thursday, while Liles carded an 87.
Jessica Zelasko of Weber State leads the tournament after a 2-under 70. She leads by one shot over Samantha Bruce of Seattle.
Seattle posted a 299 team score on Thursday and leads the tournament by three shots over South Dakota State and Arkansas State.
