Baustad Leads Women's Golf With Career-Best 71

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Central Michigan golf team shot a 36-hole, 628 total on Monday on the opening day of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate at Kingsmill Resort.
The Chippewas opened with a 307 and then posted a second-round 321. They are tied for eighth in the 14-team field.
The third and final round of the 54-hole event is scheduled for Tuesday (8:30 a.m.).
Sophomore Mackenzie Baustad led the Chippewas with a 7-over par 151 total. She is tied for sixth place in the 78-player field.
Baustad opened with a career-best 1-under 71, which ties for the third lowest in program history. She followed with an 80.
CMU's Ashley Goh, also a sophomore, shot 76-79 for an 11-over 155 and is among a group tied for 14th.
Also for the Chippewas, Padgett Chitty shot 80-80—160; Claudia Salvador shot 80-82—162; and Zoe Vartyan carded an 82-85—167. CMU's Rachel Kauflin, playing as an individual, shot 79-82 – 161.
Delaware shot 302-306—608 and leads the team standings by nine shots over host William & Mary.
Delaware's Oihana Etxezarreta shot 72-70 for a 2-under 142. She holds a four-shot lead over Emma Lu of William & Mary.
