Allendesalazar, Chitty Post Top-10 Finishes At Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Casilda Allendesalazar and Padgett Chitty posted top-10 finishes and the Central Michigan golf team finished in fifth place on Sunday in the Bowling Green Dolores Black Falcon Invitational at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
The Chippewas posted a 305 team score on Sunday to finish at 622 in the 11-team event. The 305 was CMU's best score since it posted a 298 in the final round of the Pizza Hut-Lady Thunderbird Invitational in Saint George, Utah, on March 12.
Allendesalazar closed with a 2-over 74 and Chitty posted a 3-over 75 as both finished with a 36-hole 151 total to tie for ninth place in the 74-player field.
Allendesalazar led the team charge as the Chippewas improved by 12 strokes over the 317 they recorded in Saturday's opening round. Chitty was one of three Chippewas playing as an individual and her score did not count toward the team total.
All five Chippewas who were playing in the team event broke 80 and improved on their first-round score. Ashley Goh shot 76, Claudia Salvador carded a 77, Rachel Kauflin shot 78, and Mackenzie Baustad recorded a 79.
CMU's Zoe Vartyan, also playing as an individual, matched her first round 77 and finished in a group tied for 13th at 154.
Salvador finished at 155 and tied for 20th, while Goh was among a group tied for 28th at 157. Kauflin tied for 32nd with a 159 total and Baustad tied for 61st at 167.
Host Bowling Green closed with a tournament-best 288 to win the event with a 595 total. Runner-up Akron totaled 608.
The Chippewas will close the season in two weeks at the Mid-American Conference Championships at Stone Oak Country Club in Holland, Ohio.
