Two Seconds, 18 Top 10s For Track & Field At Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. – Anya Turner placed second in the 1500-meter run and Peyton Korytkowski was second in the 100-meter dash in leading the Central Michigan track & field team on Saturday at the Ball State We Fly Challenge at the Cardinals' University Track.
No team scores were kept. CMU closed the meet with 18 top-10 finishes.
Turner finished the 1500 in 4:48.25, while Korytkowski, a redshirt freshman, finished the 100 dash in 12.05.
Korytkowski was fifth in the 200-meter dash (24.83). Her sister, Taylor Korytkowski, also a redshirt freshman, finished sixth in both the 100-meter dash (12.24) and in the 200-meter (24.86).
Nyah Tyron, a freshman, placed seventh in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.48 seconds. She also finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:05.97.
Along with Tyron, three other Chippewas placed in the 400-meters hurdles. Emma Francis, a redshirt sophomore, finished third at 1:05.29; Annie Laurenz, a redshirt freshman, finished fourth at 1:05.85; and Angela Kotecki, a freshman, finished sixth at 1:07.57.
Other CMU top 10 finishes:
• Jericha Petrella, a redshirt freshman, finished 10th in the 200-meter dash in 25.26.
• Madi Mandelke, a redshirt junior, finished third in the 800-meter run in 2:15.44.
• Maija Rettelle, a redshirt junior, finished sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:22.30.
• Lauren Lasceski, a redshirt sophomore, placed eighth in the 1500-meter run in 4:59.17.
• Camiyah James, a freshman, finished seventh in the long jump at 5.32 meters.
• Jaci Rife, a freshman, finished eighth in the long jump at 5.07 meters.
