Chippewas Fall in Final MAC Game

FARMVILLE, Va. – The Central Michigan Field Hockey team fell in their final Mid-American Conference matchup of the season against Longwood University Friday afternoon, 4-1.

Cosima Perleth scored her first collegiate goal Friday afternoon. The goal came from a penalty corner in the fourth quarter from fellow freshman Pauline Klep. The goal snapped a four-game scoreless streak for the Chippewas.

Once again, the Chippewas used two goalkeepers, optioning to start Katie Maxim, who made 14 saves on the day. At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Coletta Beeler took over for Maxim recording three saves and allowing no goals to find the back of the cage.

Central Michigan will play their final game of the season Sunday, Oct. 29 at Virginia Commonwealth University. The game will begin at 12:45 p.m. EST.
