Chippewa Women’s Basketball 2023-24 Promotional Schedule Announced

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's 2023-24 Women's Basketball schedule features 11 games at McGuirk Arena. Each game will have a promotional theme. Here is a look at themes for each game:
HOLIDAY HOOPS – vs. Indiana State | Dec. 2 | 1 p.m.
The game will feature a CMU Christmas ornament giveaway to the first 500 fans as well as a Toys for Tots collection which will be delivered to Isabella County Toys for Tots, followed by a halftime teddy bear toss. The game will also feature holiday crafts for kids, Santa Claus in the events center atrium, a student ugly sweater contest, followed by post-game autographs.
COMMUNITY NIGHT – vs. Bowling Green | Jan. 3 | 7 p.m.
The game will feature giveaways TBD. Mount Pleasant residents can show their ID to receive discounted tickets. The game will also feature basketball bingo cards which will be distributed at Fan Central, giving away $10 gift card prizes for the first 15 winners. Prior to the game, the Shepherd High School choir will voice the National Anthem.
BACK TO CLASS BASH – vs. Buffalo | Jan. 6 | 1 p.m.
The game will feature a student raffle, free food, and t-shirts.
HOOPS FOR HUNGER – vs. Ball State | Jan. 17 | 11 a.m.
The Chippewas will host Ball State for the annual Hoops for Hunger game, featuring students from local elementary schools. Hoops for Hunger is generally known for raising thousands of pounds of food for those in need.
HOMETOWN HEROES NIGHT/MAROON & GOLD GAME – vs. Ohio | Jan. 24 | 7 p.m.
The game will show support to hometown heroes while also featuring a maroon and gold theme, with maroon and gold pom poms giveaway. Those who are first responders (police, firefighters, EMS), active-duty military and veterans, and nurses and doctors will receive discounted tickets when they show their ID. The game will also feature an international student-athlete halftime parade.
FAMILY GAME DAY – vs. Western Michigan | Jan. 27 | 1 p.m.
Central Michigan will host rival Western Michigan in a mid-day family game, featuring a rally towel giveaway and various games around the events center concourse. The ticket promotion will feature a family pack with a concessions voucher. The halftime performance will feature the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe drum ceremony, and there will be an autograph session post-game.
PINK GAME – vs. Toledo | Feb. 7 | 7 p.m.
The Chippewas will host Toledo for the Pink Game, which symbolizes the Breast Cancer Awareness game. The game also takes place on National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The game will feature a pink pom pom and breast cancer awareness items giveaway, while also promoting donations to the KayYow Foundation. "On Wednesdays, we wear pink."
GIRL POWER GAME / ALUMNI GAME – MAC-Sun Belt Challenge | Feb. 10 | TBD
The Girl Power / Alumni game will take place during the MAC-SBC Challenge, showing recognition to CMU alumni and the youth, primarily young girls. The game will feature a women empowerment t-shirt giveaway to the first 250 fans, followed by the CMU women's a capella group performing the National Anthem. Director of Athletics Amy Folan will address the crowd, recognizing alumni at halftime. There will also be a Galentine's Day card station. Post-game will feature an autograph session with other female CMU student-athletes and sports programs.
HOUSING COMMUNITY COMPETITION – vs. Kent State | Feb. 17 | 1 p.m.
Central Michigan will host Kent State for the Housing Community Competition, which is an attendance competition among housing communities on campus such as East, South, Towers, and apartment communities (Graduate Housing West, Graduate Housing East, and Northwest Apartments), partnering with Residence Life, Student Activities and Involvement, and hall Residence Advisors. The winner will receive Snake Pit beanies. Following the game, men's basketball will take on Western Michigan at 7 p.m. for a Chippewa double-header.
SENIOR DAY – vs. Akron | March 9 | 1 p.m.
The Chippewas will host Akron for Senior Day, honoring senior members of the women's basketball program with a post-game senior ceremony.
