Lovett Earns Weekly MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Johnny Lovett was named the co-Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week after going 2-0 last week in CMU's dual meets with 23rd-ranked Michigan State and 11th-ranked Michigan.
Lovett, a redshirt junior, ran his win streak to seven matches with a pair of dominant victories. He posted a 12-4 major decision win over MSU's Peyton Omania and then followed with a 12-5 decision victory over Michigan's Chance Lamer.
Lovett, who shared the award with Will Feldkamp of Clarion, has won 10 of his last 13 matches and is 15-9 on the season.
The Chippewas are set to partake in the Mid-American Conference Championships March 3-4 in Fairfax, Va.
