Field Hockey Falls to Old Dominion in Home Opener

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan Field Hockey fell to Old Dominion 3-0 in its home opener Friday afternoon at Cristy Freese Field. With the loss, CMU drops to 1-2 on the young season, while Old Dominion improves to 1-1 on the year.
The Chippewas faced 29 total shots with 17 landing on goal. Maja Halasz was CMU's goalkeeper for the duration of the game and recorded 14 saves on the day. Ten of her saves came in the first quarter.
Next weekend, the Chippewas will travel Iowa City to play two games. CMU will play host Iowa on Friday, Sept. 8 at 3 p.m. On Saturday, CMU plays UMass Lowell in a 2 p.m. game.
