Men's Basketball Falls Short at Ohio, 73-61

Chippewas’ win streak ends at three; Four players reach double figures including Anthony Pritchard (15 points, five assists), Aidan Rubio (14, four 3-pointers), Brian Taylor (12, nine rebounds), and Jemal Davis (10); CMU to return home for Friday night game vs. Toledo at 7 p.m.
ATHENS, Ohio—Central Michigan's three-game win streak came to end as Ohio took control of the game with a 13-0 first half run and held off the visiting Chippewas the rest of the way for a 73-61 win Tuesday evening at the Convocation Center in Athens. The loss drops the Chippewas to 3-2 in the MAC and 8-9 overall, while Ohio improves to 2-3 in the MAC and 8-9 overall.
Central Michigan hosts Toledo on Friday evening at 7 p.m. at McGuirk Arena. The contest will be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network.
Ohio shot 53 percent (16-30) in the first half and used a 13-0 run to take a 40-28 lead into halftime. It proved to be too much for Central Michigan to overcome.
Ohio started off early as it built a nine-point lead on a Brown jumper at the 10:33 mark of the first half. After CMU cut the lead back to down to four points on a Derrick Butler layup, the Bobcats went on their 13-0 run. Shereef Mitchell scored on a layup, AJ Clayton followed with two free throws and Aidan Hadaway hit a 3-pointer. Jaylin Hunter followed with a layup and Hadaway finished off a layup of his own, and Miles Brown scored on another layup and Ohio led 31-14 with 5:10 to play in the first half.
In the second half, Central Michigan cut the lead down to 10 points seven times but could get no closer as Ohio held the Chippewas off with efficient offense.
The Bobcats were led by four players in double figures including Hunter, who finished with a game-high 19 points and eight assists. Brown tallied 17 points on 7-12 shooting, Mitchell added 13 points and six rebounds, and Aidan Hadaway contributed 13 points and five rebounds.
For the game, Ohio converted 47 percent of its field goals (27-58) and eight 3-pointers. The Bobcats also outrebounded CMU 38-31
