Cramer Earns MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week Award

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Central Michigan wrestler Alex Cramer was named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week after his performance in the Chippewas' two dual meets in his native Illinois over the weekend.

Cramer, a senior from Grayslake who carries a 3.9 grade point average, posted back-to-back technical-fall victories, the first, 20-5, over Northern Illinois' Ricardo Salinas and the second, 19-3, over Dom Lopez of SIU Edwardsville. The win over Salinas came in 6:12; the win over Lopez in 5:43.

The two wins gave Cramer, who is ranked first in the MAC and 22nd by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, five consecutive bonus-point victories. He is 17-7 on the season including 7-3 in duals.
