Field Hockey Falls to Ohio in MAC Finale

ATHENS, Ohio. — Central Michigan Field Hockey fell on Friday, 2-3, to Mid-American Conference opponent Ohio at Pruitt Field.
Mallory Camryn and Klara Mikulaskova scored for the Chippewas. It was Camryn's 10th goal of the year and the second for Mikulaskova, a defender.
The Chippewas finish league play with 14 goals scores across seven games, compared to four scored in 2023 and eight in 2022.
Camryn, a junior, scored in the second period after the Bobcats took a 1-0 lead. Mikulaskova scored in the third period on the Chippewas' only penalty corner to tie the game, 2-2. Both goals were assisted by Cosima Perleth.
Mikulaskova additionally made two defensive saves, bringing her season total to a league-leading six.
The Chippewas took 10 shots, six of which were on goal.
Freshman Jenna Billig went the first half in goal and tallied four saves. Senior Coletta Beeler went the next 26 minutes, saving one, before CMU opted for an empty net and extra attacker for the final four minutes.
CMU finish MAC play 0-7. Now 3-13 in league play, the Chippewas will close the season on Sunday (1 p.m.) at Ohio State.
