Chippewa Lacrosse sunk by Vanderbilt in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Central Michigan Lacrosse fell to Vanderbilt, 19-4, Saturday afternoon at the VU Lacrosse Complex.
The Chippewas opened fire first with a successful man-up opportunity for Celia Dow's (Penfield, N.Y. / Penfield) first goal of the season, then Sandy Edwards (Stuart, Fla. / Jensen Beach) brough the early margin back to within one, 3-2 ahead of the seven-minute mark in the first.
Hanna Wenger (Loveland, Ohio / Loveland) converted a second man-up look for CMU on a free position attempt in the second. The junior midfielder also helped the Chippewas win the draw control battle, 14-12 overall, including four taken herself.
Anna Farrar (Milton, Ga. / Cambridge) marked her first career goal in the late stages of the contest, rewarding Dow with an assist for her second point of the day.
Central Michigan Lacrosse heads to Cincinnati to take on the Bearcats Friday ahead of the 2024 season-opener against Canisius Sunday (Feb. 25).
