Per league rules, Chippewas receive loss in conference standings

CLEVELAND - The Mid-American Conference has announced that Saturday's women's basketball contest between Central Michigan University and Kent State University has been canceled as Central Michigan does not have enough available student-athletes. The game will not be rescheduled.

Per Conference rule, the member institution unable to field a team will forfeit the contest. As a result, the Golden Flashes will be credited with a win, while the Chippewas will receive a loss in the conference standings. Overall records will not be impacted as per NCAA policy.

The Chippewas return to McGuirk Arena Feb. 7 to host Toledo (7 p.m. ET) for the first of three straight at home.
