Goh, Kauflin Lead Women's Golf in First Round at Rio Verde

RIO VERDE, Ariz. – Ashley Goh and Rachel Kauflin both shot 6-over 78s on Friday to lead the Central Michigan women's golf team during the first round of the Rio Verde Invitational on the White Wing Course at Rio Verde Country Club.
The second round of the three-day, 54-hole, stroke-play event is scheduled for Saturday (noon ET). The final round is set for Sunday (10:30 a.m. ET).
Also for the Chippewas on Friday, Mackenzie Baustad shot 79, Lexi Schulman carded an 81, and Alexis McMurray posted an 86.
Goh and Kauflin are among a group tied for 58th in the 104-player field. Baustad is tied for 69th.
The Chippewas posted a 316 team score and stand in 20th place in the 21-team field. They trail 19th-place Eastern Michigan by four shots.
Utah Tech shot a 1-under 287 and leads the tournament by two shots over Missouri State (289). Chayenne Chivrac of Missouri State shot a 5-under 67 for a two-shot lead over Hridhika Vora of Akron and Jane Olson of Utah Tech.
