Turner ran the 5th-best outdoor 800m in CMU history, Bigham the 9th on Saturday.
RALEIGH, N.C. — Central Michigan Track and Field's Anya Turner and Ericka Bigham etched their names into the CMU All-Time Top 10 lists again on Saturday, this time in the outdoor slate, in the final day of NC State's Raleigh Relays.
Both competing in the 800m, Turner finished in 2:10.50 while Bigham finished with a time of 2:11.39, good for 5th and 9th in the CMU All-Time Outdoor Top 10, respectfully.
"It was a great start to the outdoor season," said CMU Director of Cross Country / Track and Field Jenny Swieton. "You never know how the first time out will be, as it's been a bit since they last competed, but they all stepped up and performed. Lots of PRs and steps forward!"
Turner finished 52nd and Bigham was 68th out of a field of 172 finishers.
Also competing for the Chippewas in the 800m on Saturday were Natalie Newcombe and Jessie Gibbins.
Newcombe finished in 2:15.91, Gibbins in 2:19.19.
The Chippewas have a busy schedule next week, with a group taking on the Tennessee Invitational (April 4-6) in Knoxville while others compete in two in-state meets over the weekend; the Michigan State Spartan Invitational (Friday, April 5) and Oakland's Golden Grizzlies Invite (Saturday, April 6).
