Goh, Kauflin Lead Women's Golf Team in First Round at Huntsville

OWENS CROSSROADS, Ala. – Ashley Goh shot a 3-over par 75 and Rachel Kauflin posted a 4-over 76 on Monday to lead the Central Michigan women's golf team in the first round of the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate on the Highlands Course at the Robert Trent Jones at Hampton Cove.
The Chippewas posted a 321 team score and are tied for 13th with Alabama State in the 16-team field.
The second round of the 54-hole event is scheduled for Tuesday (9 a.m. ET). The final round is set for Wednesday.
CMU freshman Rachel Niskanen, playing in her first event of the spring season, shot an 8-over 80, while teammates Lexi Schulman and Mackenzie Baustad both shot 90.
Goh is tied for 15th in the 83-player field, while Kauflin is among a group tied for 23rd.
Lauren Thompson of Lipscomb shot a 5-under 67 for a three-shot lead. She led Lipscomb to an even-par 288 and an eight-shot lead over Oakland.
