Field Hockey falls to MAC-leading James Madison, 2-3, on road

HARRISONBURG, Va. — Central Michigan Field Hockey scored two come-from-behind goals to cut a 3-0 deficit on Friday but fell short against league-leading James Madison, 3-2, at the Dukes' JMU Field Hockey Complex.
CMU's Mallory Camryn spearheaded the scoring move on both of the Chippewas' goals, a dribble around the JMU goalie in the 2nd period and an additional goal from a penalty corner in the third period.
It was the 6th and 7th goals of the year for Camryn. The first of the pair was assisted by Zoey Emrick, her first assist of the season, while Shannon Dwyer and Simoné Potgieter earned nods for the penalty corner goal.
All three of the Dukes' goals came in the first half of the game. Senior keeper Coletta Beeler went 58:10 in goal and made six saves.
The Chippewas made three shots –two of which for goals--, all three on goal, to JMU's 23 (10 on goal).
CMU is now 3-6, 0-2 in the Mid-American Conference season. JMU advances to 5-2, 2-0.
The Chippewas are currently scheduled to play league opponent Appalachian State on Sunday (1 p.m.). App State has cancelled all athletic events through Friday and Saturday due to the impact of Tropical Storm Helene in Boone, N.C.
