Volleyball Completes MAC-Opening Weekend Sweep

Chippewas post second-straight sweep of Miami for 2-0 start in conference play
OXFORD, Ohio -- Central Michigan volleyball took big win over Miami (Ohio) RedHawks on Friday night.
Krystina Kasson led the Chippewas with 16 kills, while Abby Olin had nine, and Natalie Rejment added eight.
CMU finished with a .231 attack percentage to Miami's .095. CMU improved to 11-3 and is 2-0 after the opening weekend of Mid-American Conference play. The Chippewas defeated the RedHawks in straight sets on Thursday.
The Chippewas entertain Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in a MAC game.
"What we look upon is how do we get better and what did we do well (this weekend) and how can we be a better team for next week," CMU coach Mike Gawlik said.
The Chippewas trailed very early in the first two sets and then took control in both with early runs. In the third, they rallied from an 11-7 hole by reeling off six straight points for a 13-11 lead. They then broke a 13-13 tie with a 6-0 spurt to take command.
Also for the Chippewas on Friday, setter Allie Korba finished with 33 assists and Rejment and Hannah Langton had 10 digs apiece.
