Zoey Emrick and Isabella D'Alessandro score for CMU, Beeler logs 7 saves
CMU is now 2-1 on the season, having picked up wins at Saint Louis on Aug. 30 and Bellarmine on Aug. 31.
Zoey Emrick and Isabella D'Alessandro scored for the Chippewas, but CMU's efforts unfortunately came up short in the 4-2 loss to the Skyhawks.
Emrick, who scored the go-ahead goal at CMU's 2-1 overtime win over Bellarmine last Saturday, opened the game late in the first quarter, putting the Chippewas up, 1-0.
D'Alessandro found the back of the cage in the fourth, her first goal of the season and the last goal of the evening. The senior was assisted by Mallory Camryn.
The Chippewas put six of seven shots on target against the Skyhawks and drew four penalty corners.
Senior keeper Coletta Beeler logged five saves across three periods in goal. Freshman Jenna Billig went the final 15 minutes, recording two saves.
The Chippewas' business trip in New England continues this weekend with a pair of games at Head Coach Jen Johnstone's alma mater, Maine. CMU will play a neutral site game with Hofstra on Saturday (2 p.m.) and will face the Black Bears on Sunday (1 p.m.).
The Pride are 0-1 and Maine is 2-1. The two will face off on Friday (3 p.m.) in Orono, Maine.
