Kent State Bests Field Hockey in Overtime

Ashley Cogger records 15 saves in second consecutive game
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan Field Hockey lost 0-1 in overtime to Kent State on a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon.
Goalkeeper Ashley Cogger anchored the Chippewa defense, stopping 15 of 16 shots sent her way. Sunday's match was the second consecutive game she posted 15 saves, a season high for the Chippewas and her career high.
Shannon Dwyer aided the defense, collecting her first career defensive save midway through the third quarter.
The Golden Flashes put away the game winner one minute into the extra period converting on their 19th penalty corner of the game.
CMU was outshot 32-10, with Mallory Camryn leading the Chippewa effort with four shots, one on goal. Five of Central Michigan's 10 shots landed on target.
Cogger passed the century mark in saves in the loss and now stands at 107 saves on the season.
The Chippewas return to the field Friday, Oct. 24, to kick off a road trip to Virginia to take on Longwood before a Sunday (Oct. 26) matchup with Virginia Commonwealth
