No. 14 Massachusetts Blanks CMU Field Hockey for Second MAC Loss

Cogger ties season high of 11 saves in season’s fourth loss
AMHERST, Mass. – Central Michigan Field Hockey fell to No. 14 Massachusetts 2-1, Friday afternoon.
Central Michigan now stands 2-2 in conference play after the first meeting between Chippewas and Minutewomen.
UMass scored both of their goals in the opening half, marking each a minute into the first two periods. The first came 28 seconds after the opening whistle; the second 35 seconds into the second quarter.
Graduate keeper Ashley Cogger recorded 11 saves from 13 on target shots, tying her season high from the season opener at Drexel (Aug. 29).
The Chippewas were outshot 21-4, logging two on target shots, one each by Mallory Camryn and Carolena Ryon.
CMU tied the Minutewomen with six total corner attempts.
Friday's game marks the first time CMU has been held scoreless in 2025.
Central Michigan Field Hockey will take the field again Sunday, playing Merrimack in a neutral site affair at Holy Cross. The game will begin at 10 a.m.
