History Made as Softball Grabs Two Wins Over Bowling Green

Carly Sleeman hit two home runs and charted her 48th RBI of the 2025 season to claim the single season record.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Carly Sleeman entered her name in the record book in another spot as she charted her 48th RBI of her sophomore season, which claims the single season record.
The previous record was set at 47 by Molly Coldren in 2012.
Sleeman also worked herself into the No. 2 spot in the record book with her 16th home run of the 2025 season.
The pitching staff for the Chippewas tallied 19 strikeouts throughout the two victories, and the staff totaled their 16th and 17th compete games of the 2025 season.
CMU defeated Bowling Green 4-2 in game one, and 7-0 in the second game. The Chippewas advance to 22-19 on the season, 14-5 in MAC play and 10-2 at home, while Bowling Green falls to 15-29 overall and 7-13 in MAC play.
Game 1
Central Michigan capitalized on some bases loaded walks in the sixth inning to take the lead that would ultimately win the game.
The Chippewas struck first in the second inning with a run crossing after an error by the Falcon's shortstop.
Bowling Green took the lead in the top of the third inning with two RBI singles, but Carly Sleeman answered with a solo home run in the bottom half of the inning.
CMU loaded the bases in the sixth, and drew back-to-back walks, which would boost them to the 4-2 lead.
Brooklyn Compau threw her second consecutive complete game for CMU and collected her seventh victory of the season. Comapu struck out nine in the outing.
Jenna Kuzara who started in left field for CMU, charted two hits in the outing, her second straight game with multiple hits. Grace Koenig, the Chippewa third baseman also charted two hits, and CMU totaled eight in the game.
Game 2
Carly Sleeman decided to enter her name into the record book early in the second game of the day, with her 16th home run of the season, which charted her 48th RBI on the 2025 season – the most in a single season by any player in Central Michigan Softball.
Sleeman's home run would just be the start of the scoring for CMU in the second game.
In the second inning, Rachel Cairo hit an RBI single down the left field line to score Grace Koenig, 2-0 Chippewas.
The third inning broke open the scoring for Central Michigan as Allyssa Hollo hit her fifth home run of the season, to dead center to give CMU a 3-0 lead.
Jenna Kuzara singled, Koenig walked, and an RBI single to right field from Keira Tolmie scored Kuzara.
An errant throw by the Falcon's catcher scored Koenig in the first and third situation and a single from Maddison Diekman scored the fourth run of the inning as Tolmie came home from second.
London Williams drew a bases loaded walk, as Bowling Green walked in their third runner of the day, to give CMU the 7-0 tilt headed to the fourth.
To start the bottom of the fifth inning, Samantha Souva hit her first career extra-base hit with a double to right center as a pinch hitter.
Mackenzie Langan collected her fourth shutout victory of the 2025 season and threw her ninth complete game. Going the distance, the junior tallied a career high ten strikeouts, surpassing her previous career high set on March 29th, 2025 at Buffalo.
Central Michigan will entertain the Falcons for the final game of the series on Easter Sunday for a single game at noon.
