
Paupore Named MAC Track Performer of the Year, First Team All-MAC

Negaunee, Mich. senior earns postseason honors
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Central Michigan's Emily Paupore has been named the Mid-American Conference Track Performer of the Year and has additionally earned postseason honors, the conference announced on Thursday.
Paupore, from Negaunee, Mich. (Negaunee) has been named the MAC Track Performer of the Year, as voted on by league coaches. The senior ran her way to a pair of MAC Outdoor Track and FIeld titles over the weekend, bringing home the gold in both the 3000S and 5000m. The senior won the 3000S in 9:57.18, breaking the MAC Championship record, and paced her way to a 17:00.64 finish in the 5000m.
Now a five-time MAC Champion with a pair of indoor track and field, (5000m, 2024, 2025), outdoor track and field titles (3000S, 5000m, 2025) and cross country titles (2023), Paupore has additionally earned her fifth First Team All-MAC honor, the first of which she's earned for outdoor track and field.
Paupore is set to keep racing in the final weeks of her collegiate career, competing in the 3000S at the NCAA East Region preliminaries in Jacksonville, Fla.
The NCAA East Region preliminaries in Jacksonville will take place from May 28-31 at the University of North Florida. Paupore will run in the 3000S on Saturday, May 31 at 5:40 p.m. ET. Natalie Newcombe, also running on Saturday, will compete in the 5000m at 8:10 p.m. The top 12 competitors from each individual event and the top 12 teams from each relay event advance from each first round to compete at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.
